Our Year
June 1 2025 - June 1 2026
Creating positive change together
Our year has included six community nature walks, one community paddle, four community events, three climate cafés, five workshops & makings, four film screenings, 26 local community projects funded, 98 community members actively involved in our work, collaborations with 44 community organizations, and ~1183 attendees at our public community events. It’s been a full year of community! You can read the full Annual Report here.
Some highlights:
-Connecting hundreds of community members to climate resilience & community at our Neighbourhoods for Nature Caring Communities and Earth Day Celebration events: swaps, repairs, fun, resources, and great community partners.
-Submitting the climate action petition to Council with signatures from 1195 residents from every area of Greater Sudbury.
-Being able to fund every one of the eligible Project Impact projects submitted, thanks to the generosity of our community: from community gardens to food security to youth groups to so many more amazing community-led projects.
-Book Talk and Public Joy Mapping with Jay Pitter.
-So many fun community nature walks, including a magical lantern walk in the LU greenspace, with 130 people of all ages.
What are we up to in the next few months? In collaboration with like-minded community groups, work is well underway to bring community priorities into the 2026 municipal election. This work includes: gathering community members’ priorities, demystifying running for Council, and preparing candidate pledges and a mayoral town hall.
