Friends of the Roxborough Greenbelt is a grassroots neighbourhood stewardship group. The group was formed in 2006 to protect the Roxborough Greenbelt, 3 hectares of urban forest, adjoining Junction Creek near downtown Sudbury, from imminent development. This goal was realized in 2009, when it became a public natural park. The group now focuses on stewardship and neighbourhood activities.
Their purpose is:
- stewardship of the Roxborough Greenbelt as a healthy natural park
- community building and community revitalization and regreening in the surrounding neighbourhoods.
Members and volunteers welcome.
