Citizens’ Climate Lobby Canada is a volunteer, grassroots group, linked to the International Group Citizens Climate Lobby.  They communicate with politicians and media about the urgency of the climate crisis and lobby all levels of government (especially federal) for carbon fee and dividend.  

We are the national headquarter and have been since 2011. 

Clean Air Sudbury is a not-for-profit organization that provides opportunities to learn about and take action to improve air quality and climate change in Greater Sudbury. 

The Climate Change Consortium is led by Conservation Sudbury.  It is not currently active.

Coalition for a Liveable Sudbury is a grassroots volunteer group of citizens and community groups who share a vision of Sudbury as a green, healthy and engaged community.

EarthCare Sudbury is an entity of the City of Greater Sudbury.

A group promoting the use of greener vehicles in Greater Sudbury. Including: hybrids, PHEV, BEV, EV vehicles, green vehicle parking and EV charging stations.

Friends of Sudbury Transit is a volunteer, grassroots group of transit users in Greater Sudbury.

Friends of the Roxborough Greenbelt is a grassroots neighbourhood stewardship group.  The group was formed in 2006 to protect the Roxborough Greenbelt, 3 hectares of urban forest, adjoining Junction Creek near downtown Sudbury, from imminent development. This goal was realized in 2009, when it became a public natural park.  The group now focuses on stewardship and neighbourhood activities.

The Good Food Box is a non-profit community initiative that allows individuals and families to purchase a variety of nutritious, delicious and fresh vegetables and fruit at wholesale prices.

The Greater Sudbury Food Policy Council is a volunteer community organization focused on sustainable food security.

Greater Sudbury Watershed Alliance is an independent, grassroots; collaborative partnership of the lake, river and creek stewardship committees of Greater Sudbury and other concerned citizens working together to promote and advocate for a healthy watershed.

Junction Creek Stewardship Committee is a not-for-profit, grassroots group guided by a volunteer board, whose main focus is the restoration of Junction Creek.

Lake Stewardship Committees are volunteer resident groups focused on stewardship of their lake or waterway, associated with the City of Greater Sudbury.

The Lakes (Watershed) Advisory Panel is an Advisory Panel to Council on watershed health and lake water quality.

The School of the Environment serves as a focal point to help to direct students, faculty and the outside community to environmental initiatives across the three campuses of the university.

Laurentian University Sustainable Earth Club is a volunteer, student club at Laurentian University working towards sustainability on the Laurentian University Campus.

Myths and Mirrors Community Arts is a not-for-profit, grassroots community arts organization.

The Northeast Regional Committee of the Ecological Farmers Association of Ontario meets regularly to initiate and plan activities in the northeast that allow farmers to meet, share and provide vital support for one another.

reThink Green is a not-for-profit organization guided by a volunteer board.  reThink Green’s vision for a Greater Sudbury is that it be a community continuously striving towards true sustainability – in which the well-being of the global and local environment, the health and happiness of the residents and a prosperous economy are properly balances and in harmony. 

River and Sky is a music festival that presents music in nature to support sustainability.

The Solid Waste Advisory Panel is an Advisory Panel to City Council to increase the City’s waste diversion and recycling efforts.

The Community Garden Network is an information and resource-sharing volunteer network that supports the sustainable development of community gardens across the City of Greater Sudbury.

Sudbury Cycles is a collaborative of several organizations in the City of Greater Sudbury.  Its goal is to encourage and support cyclists of all ages and abilities by organizing cycling courses, workshops and events.

The Sudbury Cyclists Union is a volunteer grassroots organization whose main focus is to provide a strong unified voice for cyclists and to facilitate a better urban cycling culture in the City of Greater Sudbury.  Their aim is to make cycling safe, accessible, and fun for cyclists of all ages and ability.

The Sudbury Naturalists Club is a grassroots, volunteer groups focusing on knowledge of local water resources and wildlife, landscaping, revitalization of natural environment.

The Sudbury Ornithological Society is a non-profit, volunteer group.  

Their purpose is to enhance and encourage the pursuit of bird observation and study.

Sudbury Shared Harvest is a nonprofit organization dedicated to cultivating community health by connecting people, the food they eat and the land it comes from. We support people in gaining the knowledge, skills and resources they need to access or grow their own food in a way that enhances our urban environment.

The SUN Co-operative is a community-owned non-profit solar power co-operative, guided by a volunteer board. 

Their goal is to build solar energy projects in Greater Sudbury, with the proceeds going to both reThink Green for its community work, and into a Community Environmental Fund for local community environmental projects.

The Sustainable Mobility Advisory Panel is an Advisory Panel to City Council on sustainable mobility.

The Drinking Water Source Protection Program works to prevent the contamination of our municipal drinking water sources in the Greater Sudbury area including Ramsey Lake, the Vermilion River, the Wahnapitae River and 24 municipal wells.

The Plan was approved by the Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change in September 2014 and has been in effect since April 1, 2015.
